God Save The King

God save the King is a self-initiated Tiger Conservation project by our Art director, A’shua Imran, that focuses on raising awareness and engaging the community through dialogues on the pressing issues related to the preservation of tigers.

In Chinese culture, tigers are addressed as “王” (Wáng), also known as kings, as the patterns on their forehead are very similar to the character and tigers are viewed as powerful animals that exude protective energy to ward off evil spirits.

Tigers are one of the world’s most iconic species with great cultural and historical significance that plays a fundamental role in the balance of ecosystems. Currently, there are fewer than 3,900 wild tigers in the world due to deforestation, poaching, and illegal wildlife trade formed from the perpetuation of myths and cultural beliefs about animal products.

The immersive mural experience was exhibited Haw Par Villa through an exhibit at a music event organised by Ice Cream Sundays & Shi Fu Miz, followed by Affordable Art Fair in 2019.

To find out more about Global Tiger Status or if interested to be involved, check out the TX2 global tiger program created by the WWF that aims to double the number of wild tigers.
