Introduction:

Over the past two years, we’ve opened up internship programmes for students and recent graduates to join our crew for a period of 60 - 90 days and our experiences have been extremely positive. Some of our interns are now part of our core team, and had the opportunity to join us on some of key projects with notable companies and institutions like Google, Red Cross (Singapore), World Wildlife Fund (WWF Singapore), DBS, OCBC, NUS, LASALLE, Temasek Holdings, and many others.

This year, we're looking to invite two interns from the Business and Technology industry. Interns from Business or Technology Courses from NUS, SUTD, NTU, SIM, SUSS, SIT and others would find this paid position suitable and beneficial for their development.

Position Descriptions:

1) Business Development Manager

Selected applicant with a Business background will be tasked with developing Business plans and researching on all the grants that Mural Lingo qualifies for. These can include grants that fall under the Technology, Business Development, Social Enterprise, Innovation and Development sectors. He/she shall draft Business proposals tailored to each grant’s specific requirements. Proposals will include Mural Lingo’s current vision, mission, achievements, present and future milestones and financial plans. (We will run you through with all the details about Mural Lingo during the orientation and we will connect you with mentors in the Business sector who will guide you through your tasks.)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting Business Proposals

  • Creating Business Plans

  • Drafting and searching for grants

    *Excellent writing skills are expected

2) Tech Artist (Projection mapping, AR etc)

Selected applicant with a Technology background will be tasked with brainstorming and exploring the potential of integrating technology into murals. As Mural Lingo's current mission focuses on the integration of technology like Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Projection Mapping and Holographic projections into murals, we aim to further develop as a multi-platform studio that works at the intersection of technology and arts, and create immersive artistic experiences by using a combination of cutting edge technology and captivating mural paintings.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Brainstorming ideas — To further elevate the company through advanced technology

  • Integrating technology into murals — Augmented Reality, Projection Mapping (Basic knowledge with AR/VR goggles like HTC Vive, Hololens, frameworks like ARKit, ARCore, and software such as Unity is preferred but not necessary. Projection mapping - Resolume and Madmapper.”)

*Applicants do not need any prior experience as we would connect you with established partners who will be able to mentor you to complete these tasks.

TERMS OF WORK

Duration: Open from 15 May - 15 July, with a 2-month trial period. The position would then be ongoing if the interns wish to come onboard to work on a part-time or freelance basis.

Weekly hours: 3 - 4 working days per week, depending on projects.

Remuneration: $400 to $500 (based on applicants skills and experiences) + additional fees for involvement in our ongoing projects.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Based in Singapore

  • University or relevant technical degree (Undergraduates and recent graduates)

  • Native/near native English speaker

  • Basic interpersonal skills and can work well in a creative team environment.

  • Exceptional team attitude and interest in being part of an innovative team that is unique in the region

  • Self-directed and able to follow through on tasks and responsibilities independently.

  • Passionate about the Arts.

Incubation Programmes:
Mural Lingo's current mission focuses on the integration of technology such as augmented reality, virtual reality, projection mapping and holographic projections into murals. Therefore, interns from Business or Technology Courses are prioritised this year.

Nonetheless, we do offer 'incubation programmes' throughout the year on unpaid basis and focusing solely on the development of a specific skill. Selected applicants will be developing one of their specific skills (painting, photography, illustration, graphic design, video etc) over 100 - 200 hours of intense practice alongside other apprenticeship tasks.

Additionally, they will be invited to join our team regularly on mural projects and offered artist fees between $9 - $12 per hour, based on their skills and responsibilities.

TERMS OF WORK

Duration: 01 May onwards. The position would then be ongoing if the interns wish to come onboard to work on a part-time or freelance basis.

Weekly hours: Flexible, depending on projects.

Remuneration: Basic allowance to cover food/transport + artist fees for individual involvements in our ongoing projects.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Based in Singapore

  • University or relevant technical degree (Undergraduates and recent graduates)

  • Native/near native English speaker

  • Basic interpersonal skills and can work well in a creative team environment.

  • Exceptional team attitude and interest in being part of an innovative team that is unique in the region

  • Self-directed and able to follow through on tasks and responsibilities independently.
